Excellence programs

Music Excellence

The Music Excellence Program is designed to enhance students’ theoretical knowledge and performance skills. Previous experience is required and acceptance is by audition only. This subject is an elective which runs outside of the timetable allowing students from Year 7 through to Year 12 to achieve AMEB levelled progress throughout their schooling. This class is designed to encourage the pursuit of excellence through the perspectives of music history, instrumental music and aural skills. It will also help students to develop a sense of professionalism and discipline in all their future endeavours.

Sporting Excellence

The Health and Physical Education Curriculum includes Netball and Rugby League focused classes. Students study similar theoretical units to that of the core classes but are able to focus on their chosen sport in a practical setting. Instructed by qualified teachers highly skilled in the particular sports, students are provided the opportunity to develop their performance abilities and tactical game-play exclusive to either Netball or Rugby League. 

Language Excellence

Our Japanese Excellence Program offers a unique and enriching opportunity for students in Years 7 – 12 to develop advanced language skills and intercultural understanding. This program includes exclusive extension opportunities and interactions with our sister school in Saitama (Wako Kokusai High School) and Hiroshima (Akiota Middle School) in Japan, fostering an authentic cultural exchange. 

Students can participate in an optional study tour to Japan in Year 11 or 12, exploring the country’s rich heritage and modern innovations. Additionally, students are able to apply for State Scholarship opportunities which provide for a fully funded immersion program in Japan, providing an unforgettable cultural immersive experience.
