Diversity and Inclusion Centre
Yeppoon State High School creates an inclusive community to cater for a diverse range of learners. Supporting all of our students to engage in education is essential for our young people to thrive. Our whole school inclusive approach to differentiated teaching and learning recognises every student can realise their potential with reasonable adjustments and teaching strategies tailored to meet their individual needs. Yeppoon State High School sets high expectations, values and celebrates diversity by implementing high quality, evidence-based teaching practices focussed on success for every student.
Through focussed and intensive teaching addressing the individual strengths and challenges, we facilitate improvements in literacy, numeracy and access to the learning environment.
This is achieved through:
- Embracing diversity as a key value
- Providing challenging curriculum
- Providing flexible curriculum delivery that responds to individual strengths and challenges
- Providing opportunity for students to learn alongside their same-aged peers
- Providing collaboration between staff, parents, students and external agencies
Our Inclusion Team works collaboratively with class teachers, students, parents/carers and the wider school community to ensure all students are able to access the curriculum and actively participate in school life at Yeppoon State High School.
