Yeppoon State High School is a Gateway School to the following Industry areas:
- Building & Construction
- Health
- Aerospace
- Hydrogen
The Building and Construction Gateway to Industry Schools project aims to raise awareness of the different pathways into the building and construction industry, by:
- raising the profile of all careers in construction
- providing opportunities for industry placements
- creating links between industry and schools
- assisting with professional development for teachers.

The Health Gateway Program links schools with industry partners to introduce students to the many career pathways and job options available to them within the health industry. The program also helps to facilitate learning opportunities and experiences for both students and teaching staff.

Developing an effective workforce for the aerospace industry
The Queensland Government is committed to supporting the state's rapidly developing and innovative aerospace industry. The Gateway to Industry Schools program for Aerospace has proven essential in meeting the Queensland Government's aim of transitioning young people from school to work while completing school and gaining formal qualifications.
Selected Queensland secondary schools (government and non-government) engage and partner with aerospace industries, tertiary education and training providers to inspire students to consider a skilled, diverse, and sustainable career or pathway into to the exciting aerospace industry sector.

The Gateway to Industry Schools project for the Hydrogen Industry (GISPH2) facilitates sustainable partnerships between industry, government, and the education sector to:
- Advance Queensland's hydrogen workforce development
- Attract new workers
- Guide future training.
By fostering these partnerships, connecting pathways, encouraging participation, offering professional development and assisting in the promotion of schools and students, GISPH2 is assisting industry build talent pipelines for the future.
