Curriculum

 
Yeppoon State High School offers extensive curriculum choices. We have the full range of traditional academic subjects as well and Nationally Recognised Certificate Courses.
Check with your school for subjects you are required to study while in Australia.
The curriculum booklet (PDF, 893 KB) will help you choose your subject combination. If you are an international student enrolling through EQI, you will not be required to pay any subject fees as this is included in your enrolment fees.

Year 10

The following subjects will be undertaken by all students:
English                        Mathematics              Physical Education
Science                       History
Students will then choose 4-5 of the following subjects:
  • Information Communication Technology
  • Business Education
  • Graphics
  • Shop A (wood work)
  • Shop B (metal work)
  • Agricultural Science
  • Visual Art       
  • Drama
  • Music
  • Japanese
  • Home Economics
  • Marine Studies
*Marine Studies is made up of both theory and practical components. The practical component includes snorkelling and boating, however, for safety reasons, we do not allow any of our students to go scuba diving.
 

Year 11

The following subjects will be undertaken by all students:
 
English
 
Students will then need to choose one from the following
 
Mathematics A           Mathematics B           *Mathematics C
 
*NB. If you choose Mathematics C, you must do Mathematics B as well.
 
Students will then choose 5-6 of the following subjects:

  • Agricultural Science
  • Legal Studies
  • Ancient History
  • Marine Studies
  • Biology
  • Modern History
  • Business Communication & Technologies
  • Music
  • Chemistry
  • Physical Education
  • Drama

  • Furnishing Studies
  • Recreational Studies
