Our Location
Yeppoon State High School is located at Yeppoon on the Capricorn Coast in tropical Queensland, Australia. Our school is located approximately 10 minutes walk from Yeppoon's famous main beach which is a stunning entry point to glorious Keppel Bay and the Great Barrier Reef. Yeppoon is graced with sunny skies, year-round warm temperatures and is located in the heart of the Australian bush. To the north of Yeppoon you'll find beautiful Byfield National Park and the majestic Waterpark Creek. To the south, as you drive along our famous ocean road, you'll pass iconic dormant volcanoes before reaching Australia's second largest river catchment, the Fitzroy River.

Extra-Curricular
Yeppoon State High School has a strong sporting culture. You might consider joining our Rugby League, Touch Football, Cricket, Volleyball or Netball teams. Apart from sport, you may like to join our renowned Instrumental Music Band. We also have a range of school committees available for our Senior students (Years 11 and 12) to join. It is also important for you to remember that most of our subjects include a range of field trips. You may have the opportunity to go on the Leadership camp or one of the various subject camps. If you are studying at Yeppoon State High School in Semester 1 (January to June) you will be invited to join our Year 8 Waterpark Creek camp as a camp leader.
Our Students
Yeppoon State High School has a population of approximately 900 students. Our students are relaxed, tolerant and extremely welcoming of our international guests. If you decide to study at Yeppoon, you can be assured that you will make lifelong friends.
Our Staff
Yeppoon State High School has a teaching staff of approximately 70. Our staff are dedicated, friendly and extremely helpful. All our teachers are university qualified and are experts in their chosen fields.
Our Homestay Families
Most international students tell us that the highlight of their stay is the relationship they forge with their homestay families. Yeppoon State High School works closely with our local community to find caring homestay families that will look after you for the duration of your stay in Australia. We have a pool of homestay families located all over the Capricorn Coast, from all walks of life. Some of our families live on rural properties, others live in town. Some of our homestay families live near the beach, others live surrounded by Australia's unique bush.
What you can be assured of is that we will try to match you with a homestay family that best meets your preferences. It is important for you to be aware, however, that our school attracts students from the entire Capricorn Coast. Over half our students live in regional towns other than Yeppoon. There is a strong possibility that your homestay family will live up to 20 minutes from the school.
